What is a 360˚ Video and why it’s ideal for weddings?

Gone are the days of the man standing in the corner with a big light on top of his shoulder mounted camera. Gone are the VHS tapes and the muffled vows and speeches recorded on the on-board microphone. This is the 21st Century and technology has evolved, the latest stage in this is Virtual Reality or in this case immersive 360 degree video.

So what makes a 360˚ wedding video different from a normal wedding video? A  360˚ (aka Virtual Reality) wedding video is an immersive experience, by the use of VR goggles or even just an iPad, smart TV or mobile phone, you can watch your wedding video in full 360 degrees. You can essentially be the director of your own video just by turning your head where as with a normal wedding video you are relying on the videographer to be in the right place at the right time to capture that perfect moment.

Reliving the moment

Whether its mum crying at your vows, watching dad give his speech, spinning around on the dance floor and seeing your friends and family or watching your nephew and niece playing in the gardens – you can view it all without restriction. Wedding videos are beautiful but they only show one angle where as VR 360 degree wedding videos give you chance to experience the moment again.

360-degree videos, also known as immersive videos or spherical videos, are video recordings where a view in every direction is recorded at the same time, shot using an omnidirectional camera or a collection of cameras. During playback the viewer has control of the viewing direction like a panorama.
